Cinzia is Nouscom co-founder and Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs since year 2015. Her previous experience included 17 years at the Merck laboratory in Rome (IRBM), mainly as a group leader in the field of antivirals against Hepatitis C virus. She was involved also in the set-up of in cells and in vivo surrogate infection and replication models for HCV, unable to infect hosts different from humans and chimpanzees.

Previously she was a professor of Genetics at the Medicine Faculty of Rome University “La Sapienza” where her main research interests included Polyoma virus life cycle and characterization of human plasma protein genes.

Cinzia spent one year at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) at Heidelberg, Germany, where she worked on genes transcribed by RNA polymerase III (mainly tRNA).

She graduated in Biology and specialized in Microbiology at the University of Naples. Her thesis works were performed at the Laboratorio di Genetica e Biofisica (LIGB) of CNR, Naples and at the Istituto di Biochimica, II Facoltà di Medicina, Università di Napoli Federico II.

Cinzia was author of numerous publications and of patents, also as a single author.
